I started researching moving companies online in early 2021 for a planned move from L.A. to The Ozarks. What an eye opener. After reading hundreds of horror stories, I concluded that the moving industry is rotten to the core. It is thoroughly corrupt and much of it is actually organized criminal enterprise. I learned everything customers did wrong and how they suffered for it. I always search out and study reviews, independent ones, not from the company’s own websites. I came across Merit Moving System and they had an exceptionally good reputation in their customer reviews. I called them and set up an online video walk through, then accepted their bid. I did my own packing (153 boxes). Fast forward months to move day, December 29th. They crew/truck were right on time. The four guys did a fantastic job and were in and out in a couple of hours. At our new place in Missouri, they missed the delivery window by four days but once somebody explained the situation to me over the phone, it was all good.
