For those who celebrate Christmas and are moving over the holidays you can still be festive even though you are neck deep in moving boxes and supplies from the move.  You can actually take your moving supplies and make a Christmas tree out of them.  This will give you something to do with all of those boxes once you unpack and give you a fun distraction from the moving process.  Just follow these steps from you Southern California Moving Company and you will be set for Christmas in no time!

To make a moving box Christmas tree, its quite simple actually.  Some of the things you will need are:

  • 2 wardrobe boxes
  • Packing tape
  • A pencil
  • A marker
  • 4 green boxes
  • A box cutter
  • Scissors
Some options items that can make it easier are:
  • Rubber bands
  • Hot glue

Step 1 – take the 2 wardrobe boxes and cut them so that they look like half of an arrow head when still folded.

Then take the 4 pieces and open each one up and put them back to back so that it will strand upright and stable.  Tape the pieces together.

Next you want to take the green boxes and tape them to the sides of the cardboard so all of the sides are green.

Now you want to take your pencil and trace out the cut lines on the green boxes and cut them to resemble branches.  Once all 4 sides are cut you can go ahead and decorate it.  If you want you can even place it up on top of another made box so that you can put presents under it J

Note: We do not recommend putting lights on the tree as this could be a fire hazard.

Now its time to decorate this moving box tree with packing peanuts, string, leftover cardboard for other DIY ornaments, markers, garland, and anything else you want to put on it!
